Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) moved into the top spot in the Super 25 boys basketball rankings. The Warriors improved from No. 2 in a week they defeated then-No. 14 Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach) 81-76 in overtime as senior guard Dwayne Bacon, a Florida State commit, had 32 points and nine rebounds.
The Warriors also had a loss erased when Hamilton (Memphis) had to forfeit an earlier victory over Oak Hill because of an ineligible player.
The previous No. 1, Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), moved down to No. 5 with the Pilots’ first loss, 76-68 in overtime, to Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio) in the Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational in Kettering, Ohio.
There are four new teams in the rankings, led by No. 14 Greensboro Day School, which is No. 14 and 26-0 after defeating then-No. 8 Wesleyan Christian 56-48 as Peter Agba had 18 points.
The other new teams: No. 18 Wayne; No. 24 St. Anthony (Jersey City) and No. 25 Cardozo (Bayside, N.Y.).
