Indian senior Madison Thune had 11 saves in goal, while the Golden Knights’ sophomore Morgan had eight in this stalemate in Georgetown. Central Junior Naiya Smith and River senior Callie McDowell with goals. Indian River and Sussex Central had 12 and 11 shots on goal respectively.

Senior forward Drew Mulcahy had a goal in both halves to lead the Viking attack Thursday. Senior Steven Matalavage, sophomore Ulysis Slagle, senior Jack Ashby and sophomore Aidan Spoor also scored. Vikings outshot Golden Knights 17 to 11.

The Mallards used a shut out from Delaney Abercrombie to improve to 8-0 on the season. Julie Dantonio had two goals, with Grace Tunis and Karlie Southcomb adding goals.


Clippers take Bayside South title at Nutters Crossing Thursday

James M. Bennett golf defeated Stephen Decatur by six strokes (157 to 163) to take the Bayside South championship title. Clippers won six of the ten meets this season, and were tied in points with the Seahawks at the beginning of the week before taking matches on Tuesday and Thursday.

Bennett will travel to the Queenstown Golf Links to take on Bayside North champion, Kent Island, on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
