Brashier Middle College Charter High School athletic director Deb Osborne will be inducted into the York County Sports Hall of Fame May 12 at the Events at Manchester facility in Rock Hill.
Osborne is a 1976 graduate of Fort Mill High School, where she played volleyball, basketball and tennis. She left as the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball history at the school with 1,153 points and still ranks second overall (boys or girls).
Osborne went to North Greenville University to play basketball before transferring to Erskine College to finish her playing career. Osborne served as interim head coach for the women’s team at Erskine in 1981 and also coached the women’s softball team to a 14-5 record and a fifth-place finish in the NAIA national tournament.
Osborne spent 28 years at J.L. Mann High School, the last 14 as athletic director, before her retirement following the 2009-2010 school year. She also served as a physical education teacher and coached basketball, girls tennis, softball and cross country at the school.
She came out of retirement in the fall of 2011 to serve as part-time AD at Brashier Middle College and took over as the school’s AD the following year.
