JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Paxon High School held a ceremony Thursday, celebrating six student athletes who signed letters of intent to play their respective sports in college while furthering their education.
Four different sports were represented.
Arianna Wright and Rayven Wade, who helped lead the girls basketball team to the Class 5A state title game, both signed letters to play at Santa Fe College next year. Sentell Glover will be playing football at Methodist. Track stand out, Darius Biddings, is headed to the University of Mount Olive, and a pair of baseball players, Alex Hendricks and Joshua Jordan signed with Daytona State College and Voorhees College respectively.
The athletes were joined by family to sign their letters in front of the student body. Each of the players’ coaches spoke to the crowd about their athletes and the athletes themselves spoke, thanking those who helped them get to this point in their lives.
