Someone get this ESPN producer an Emmy already.
During a recent ESPN telecast of a regional tournament, roving cameras captured a future mom-to-be, apparently for at least the second time given her young walking partner. The aforementioned mother was decked out in rather sporting and appropriate attire: A pair of cut-off white demin shorts (good for the heat, you know) and a tank top with her rather photogenic baby bump taking on the form of a gigantic baseball.
At the precise moment that the camera found this walking, talking baseball marketing machine from Heaven, the ESPN producers happened to place a graphic on the screen celebrating Little League’s “Grow the Game” grassroots funding program. Obviously, the timing of the promo was beyond sublime, and there’s little question it was orchestrated in advance as soon as someone in the production truck noticed the woman on film.
No matter. Pulling off such a perfect synchronized promo is hard work, and deserving of any and all accolades that come their way, Emmy’s included.
