Skinny: Navarre is off to its best start in program history after a 20-9 win over Escambia. Navarre showed outstanding defense, but suffered a key injury to it’s already banged up team. If any team can continue to overcome adversity, it’s Navarre.

2. Tate Aggies 5-1
Skinny: The Aggies showed explosive offense in the “Lindsey Bowl” last week as Tate came out on top. This Friday, the Aggies will get their toughest District 1-6A test of the season so far.2 . Tate 5-1

3 . Pine Forest Eagles 5-1
Skinny: After a bye week, the Eagles will look to remain perfect in district play when they face off with Washington. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles look even quicker after an open week.

4 Escambia Gators 4-3
Skinny: The Gators might hold the most deceptive record in the area. Escambia’s three losses come to No. 1 Navarre, No. 3 Pine Forest and defending state champion New Orleans Jesuit. If the Gators were expecting their tough strength of schedule to pay off, this is the week to cash in.

5. Pensacola Tigers 3-3
Skinny: The Tigers hold the No. 5 spot after having a bye last Friday. With a win this week, PHS can turn the tables in the District 1-5A standings.

6. West Florida Jaguars 3-3
Skinny: The Jaguars produced more offense than any previous game this season as West Florida handled Catholic 46-7. Like PHS, the Jags’ are striving for a much-needed District 1-5A win. West Florida will travel to face the No. 7 ranked team in Class 5A.

7. Gulf Breeze Dolphins 2-5
Skinny: The Dolphins took a tough loss to Walton last week, but that won’t take their eyes off the prize. Gulf Breeze will aim to preserve it’s perfect District 2-6A record as pass-heavy meets ground-and-pound.

8. Milton Panthers 5-2
Skinny: The Panthers competed in and were victorious in an overtime thriller with Crestview last week. Milton will hope to carry that momentum to it’s home field this Friday, as the No. 1 team in the PNJ power poll comes to town.

9. Catholic Crusaders 2-5
Skinny: The Catholic Crusaders suffered a lopsided loss to West Florida last week, but don’t expect the ‘Saders to dwell on that game. With a win this Friday, the Crusaders will finish district play unbeaten and lock up a District 1-3A title.

10. Pace Patriots 2-5
Skinny: The Patriots showed fight to keep the game interesting with Tate last week. Pace’s secondary might have the biggest test for the Patriots this week, as the Dolphins will look to bring the air raid.

11. Washington Wildcats 0-6
Skinny: The Wildcats held an open week and used to prepare for a district challenge this week. Xavier Saulsberry – top dual-threat QB in the area – and the Pine Forest Eagles will come to town, and the Wildcats may have their hands full in search of their first win.

12. Northview Chiefs 1-5
Skinny: The Chiefs allowed Liberty County to score 37 points in a loss last week. But like other teams in the area, the Chiefs are still in the postseason hunt despite their record. Northview will travel to face District 1-1A rival Jay.

13. Jay Royals 1-6
Skinny: Coming off their first win of the year, the Royals should be fired up to face district rival Northview. Which ever squad wins that game will likely secure District 1-1A runner up.
