USA Today is trying to determine the best high school boys basketball program in the nation, and you can help.
The contest starts with polls on all 50 states, and there are five South Dakota teams in the running.
They are: Sioux Falls Lincoln, Madison, Sioux Falls O’Gorman, St. Thomas More (Rapid City) and White River. Voting ends Jan. 20. The criteria to determine the finalists was on-court success, coaching/player development; fans/attendance and facilities/training/uniforms.
The winner will advance to the regional round, with voting between Jan. 21 and Jan. 29. The winner of that advances to the national round with voting starting Jan. 30 and ending Feb. 9.
The overall winner in the national round will win $1,000 and a banner. Second place is $500 and a banner and third place is $250 and a banner.
