Editor’s note: Following are the two athletes nominated by their school for Gannett Central Wisconsin Media’s High School Sports Awards. The top male and female athletes of the year will be announced May 6, along with the coaches and teams of the year.

Advice to an athlete: Treat every game and practice like it’s your last, because in the blink of an eye, it is.
Inspiration: When I was a child, I looked up to the high school athletes at my school; I wanted to be just like them. Today, I see little girls who want to be like me, which inspires me to be a good role model for them.
College plans: I plan to go to UW-Oshkosh and major in communications.
Junior letters, honors: Volleyball (Most Improved Player), basketball (second team all-conference, Most Improved Player), softball (first team all-conference, Best Offensive Player)
Senior letters, honors: Volleyball (second team all-conference), basketball (first team all-conference, captain, Most Improved Player), softball

Favorite sports memory: CWC-10 conference champs junior and senior year, regional champs senior year, and scoring 1000-plus points in basketball.
Advice to an athlete: You can do whatever you put your mind to, and never give up.
College plans: Planning on going to UW-Stevens Point for pre-physical therapy and to play football.
Senior letters, honors: Football (first team all-conference, captain, led conference in receiving, led state throughout season in receiving, first team all region, Channel 7 All-Star), basketball (first team all-conference, captain, honorable mention all-state, finished second in conference for points per game, achieved 1,000-plus points, led team in scoring since sophomore year, regional champs, two-year conference champs, selected for the all-star basketball game, Channel 7 All-Star)
