The Green Bay Preble girls soccer team battled to a 3-3 tie in a nonconfernence game against Verona at the Muskego Invite on Friday night.

Julia Schumacher, Kendra Jepson and Leslie Giesler scored for the Hornets.

Kennedy Brault made five saves in goal for Preble, which moved to 0-1-1 on the early season. Brault has made 17 saves in the first two games of the year.

The Hornets, which lost to De Pere on Thursday night, will attempt to win at least a share of the Fox River Classic Conference for the second straight season after sharing the league title with the Redbirds in 2014.

“I’m really happy that our offense is starting to gel,” Preble coach Chris Becker said. “It was a nice bounce-back effort after a tough De Pere game.”
