A 26-win season has propelled Bruce Dick into fifth-place on the Colorado high school basketball all-time wins list.
The current Resurrection Christian and former Rocky Mountain boys basketball coach has 574 wins, according to the latest update in CHSAA’s state records book.
The Cougars went 26-1 in 2014-15, losing in the Class 2A title game to Sanford. It was Dick’s fifth season in charge of RCS after spending the previous five seasons at Rocky Mountain.
Dick won a state title in 1992 at Green Mountain, where he coached for 24 seasons. He has a career record of 574-197 and is 36 wins behind the retired Dan McKiernan in fourth place. Dick Katte (retired, Denver Christian) has the most wins among boys coaches, at 876.
Another former Rocky Mountain coach — Ken Shaw — is third, with a 692-225 record. Shaw is the coach at Regis Jesuit.
More record talk: Resurrection Christian scored 2,158 points during the 2014-15 season, which ranks fifth in state history even though it wasn’t listed in the latest update.
