All-time individual achievement
Being a varsity athlete all four years of basketball and track
No. 1 athletic goal
To be someone younger athletes can look up to.
“My favorite (between shot put and discus) would probably be discus. I’ve enjoyed discus ever since I was a freshman and I actually went to State my sophomore year so it kind of has a special place in my heart. My season’s off to a pretty good start. We’ve had a couple cold, rainy meets which are hard to throw in but I had my (personal record) by over two feet in shot so I’m within five inches of the school record.”
Coach Karen Wilsmann’s thoughts
“She’s doing what I’ve expected of her. She’s been a good senior leader. She’s having her best year so far in shot. She’s four inches away from the school record in the shot put (33-4). We’re waiting to see if we can’t get a warm day again and get that school record for her. We have a tough regional and sectional to get to State but I expect her to do her best in both the shot and discus and get there.”
