“As a team, we’ve struggled the first couple games. We’ve made some mistakes, correctable mistakes on our part. Not doing what we need to do as a team. Not coming together. Had a lot of turnovers, stuff we can fix. Personally, I feel like I’ve been playing well defensively, making a lot of big plays. Teamwise, we have a big group of seniors and we definitely have one goal and that’s to make the playoffs. Individually, I’d love to be first team all conference both offense and defense. That was my goal to start the year being a three-year varsity starter. I feel that’s something I can attain that this year.”
Coach Kevin Fix’s thoughts
“Erik has done a great job defensively, being an anchor up there up front. He’s helped eliminate run game of the opponents. Erik is a very solid student in the classroom and does a good job being a role model of our team in the community. Whether that’s working with the youth football guys, the flag football guys, being a leader in our Indian Council. Erik has done everything he can to make our program successful. Erik is a leader, he’s a guy who is going to go out on the football field and work as hard as he can to be a good example that way. Then also vocally, trying to help his teammates to play to the best of their levels.”
