Saying or piece of advice: Try your best in everything. You’ll get in a habit and it’s a lesson that can be applied to everything, including sports.
What if …
You could be any celebrity on earth for a week. Who would it be? Usain Bolt. Who wouldn’t want to be that fast?
You could listen to a song minutes before the biggest athletic event of your life to get you hyped. What would it be? “The Hum” by Dimitri Vegas
You could meet one famous person, a non-athlete, who would it be? Will Ferrel
Who inspires you most? My teammates, coaches, and family.
What is your dream vacation destination? Year-long cruise around the world.
Who’s the toughest opponent you have ever faced? My teammate Jared Jurss. We push each other like crazy, both in practice and in meets. It makes us better as a team. It’s funny how competitive we are, but in the end we are best friends and will do anything for each other.
What’s your No. 1 pet peeve? People who chew with their mouth open.
What do you want to do for a living? Aerospace engineer.
Why are sports important to you? It lets me release my thoughts on the day and I can spend time with friends outside of school.
What’s your strength as a person? I can be a friend with anyone and love working hard to accomplish goals I set.
What do you still need to work on? Making the best out of every situation. We had some tough meets where we lost by a point. Learning those mistakes and capitalizing on them next race will change the outcome from second, to first.
Do you have any pre-game rituals? I say a quick prayer of thanks to God for what I have, then do the sign of the Cross and touch my shoes. Then say good luck to my team.
