Tianna Borchardt had 17 kills, 17 digs and four blocks as the Edgar volleyball team outlasted Rib Lake in five sets in a Marawood Conference North Division game Tuesday.

The Wildcats won 25-19, 25-17, 15-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Lindsey Schneeberger had 43 assists and six aces as the Wildcats improved to 2-1 in conference play.

Dana Heidmann had a team-high 26 digs for Edgar.

Stratford 1

Mariah Whalen had 32 kills and 11 digs as the Cardinals won the Marawood Conference South Division matchup 26-24, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14.

Abbey Fox and Rylie Vaughn had 34 and 24 assists, respectively for Newman, and Vaughn led the way with 16 digs.

Fox recorded a triple-double as she added 10 kills and 10 digs.

Savannah Schillinger had 15 kills to lead the Tigers, and Jadyn Dahlke had 19 assists.

Brooke Peterson added 10 assists for Stratford.

Witt-Birn 1

Amanda Muscha had 24 assists stepping into the setter position as the Chargers fell in four sets in the Central Wisconsin Conference-8 matchup.

Shiocton won 25-16, 24-26, 25-12, 25-13.

Muscha is normally the Chargers libero, but changed positions due to Wittenberg-Birnamwood losing its setter to an injury this past weekend.

Taylr Nier led the Chargers with 13 kills and Lauren Bushman added eight kills. Nier also had a team-high 23 digs.

Haelia Gagnon added 20 digs.

Mosinee 3,

Northland Pines 0

Claire Nievinski led Mosinee with 13 kills, nine assists and eight digs in their sweep against Northland Pines.

Janae Antosch added 24 assists and 12 digs for Mosinee in their 25-20, 25-18, 25-16 wins.

Brooke Wierzbanowski had 6 aces and 8 digs and Alexis Worzella contributed 12 digs for Mosinee.

Record: Mosinee 18-10, 4-0 GNC.

Merrill 2

The Tigers improved to 2-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with the road win.

Merrill fell to 0-4 in conference play.

Kirill Ramashov scored three goals to lead Mosinee to a Great Northern Conference victory.

Northland Pines scored less than two minutes into the game, but Mosinee answered with four straight goals.

The Wisconsin Valley Conference game could be completed Friday afternoon.

All four goals were scored in the first half with Steven Lewandowski giving the Warriors an early 1-0 lead.

Jack Mittelsteadt scored twice for Everest and Gunnar Yonker added a goal.


CVGL Leg No. 4

Mary McDonald shot a low-round of 41 and helped the Stevens Point Area Senior High girls golf team to a first-place finish in the fourth leg of the tournament at Indianhead Golf Course..

McDonald’s teammate Abbie Ter Maat shot a 45 as the Panthers finished with a team round of 185, or 25 strokes ahead of Regis.

With the win, SPASH moved into a tie with Stanley-Boyd for first place overall in the tournament.

Marshfield finished third overall, two strokes behind Stanley-Boyd. Ana Jense and Jordyn Fitgerald shot a 47 and 49, respectively, to lead the Tigers.

Claire Tomczik and Olivia Ping both shot a 60 to lead D.C. Everest.

Cierra Botcher shot a low-round of 50 to lead Wisconsin Rapids.

Two of the doubles matches went three sets as well with the winning team rallying from a loss in the first set — West’s Diane Le/Sidney Engman rallied at No. 2 doubles as well as Merrill’s Allison Winter-Reed/Morgan McAllister at No. 3 doubles.

Marion’s Delaney Greene-Gretz won the girls 5,000 meter race in 19 minutes, 34. 31 seconds.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Damon Wolff finished 26th overall to lead the Chargers boys, who finished seventh.

Freedom’s Travis Reiter won the boys 5K in 16:10.85.
