Zach Kellar scored 19 points to help Douglas defeat Damonte Ranch, 68-52, on Tuesday at Douglas in a boys basketball game.

Connor Lyons added 12 points as the Tigers secured the No. 4 seed in the Division I boys Northern regional tournament.

Sam Broersma also reached double digits for Douglas with 10 points.

For the Mustangs, Brett Cooper scored 19 points and David Nicholas added 12 points.

Douglas improved to 8-7 in Division I and is scheduled to face Carson at home on Friday for their final game of the regular season.

Tuesday’s loss eliminated a chance for Damonte Ranch to secure a playoff seed.

Boys Basketball

SPANISH SPRINGS 63, NORTH VALLEYS 55 at North Valleys: Jacob White and Bryce Delong each scored 10 points to help the Cougars to their first High Desert title in school history, securing the No. 1 playoff seed in the Division I boys Northern regional tournament.

Jake Prizina added nine points, while Josh Prizina and Ryan Anderson scored eight points apiece for Spanish Springs.

For the Panthers, Tommy McGuire and Octavian Corley each scored 11 points.

Kejohn Corley added 10 points.

MCQUEEN 67, HUG 56 at McQueen: Cedric Jones scored 16 points to lead the Lancers.

Tyrel Minor added 15 points and Jaylan Franklin scored 13.

For the Hawks, Ahmad Thomas scored 12 points.

VIRGINIA CITY 70, SAGE RIDGE 10 at Virginia City: Clint Hess scored 23 points to lead the Muckers, while his brother Colt Hess added 11 points.

For the Scorpions, Louis Bubala scored four points.

REED 49, RENO 48 At Reed: Jamel Ramos Scored 27 points as the Raiders locked up second-place in the High Desert League.

Reed plays at Spanish Springs on Friday.

Girls Basketball

MCQUEEN 72, HUG 52 at McQueen: Megan Collins scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Lancers.

Sadaria McAlister scored 12 points and Izzy Warren added 11 point for McQueen.

For the Hawks, Mihracle Caldwell scored 11 points, Zadrea Hawkins scored 13 points and Rachelle Tau added 12.

VIRGINIA CITY 51, SAGE RIDGE 17 at Virginia City: Bethany Fuller scored 18 points to lead the Muckers. Nikki D’Agostino added 11 points. For the Scorpions, Hannah Spector scored seven points.

RENO 54, REED 32 at Reed: Mallory McGwire scored 23 points to lead the Huskies, while Mikayla Shults added 14 points.

For the Raiders, Nakiyah LeSure scored 11 points.

DOUGLAS 55, DAMONTE RANCH 36 at Douglas: Leonna Mortimer scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Tigers. Maddy Lowe added 10 points as the Tigers improved to 12-3 in Divsion I.

For the Mustangs, Megan Carlson scored 13 points and Morgan Waller scored 12.

NORTH VALLEYS 57, SPANISH SPRINGS 53 at North Valleys: Panthers’ Karolina Perez led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed six steals, while Tyler Rivera scored eight points. Rivera hit a free throw with six seconds left to seal the win for North Valleys.

Elaine Johnson grabbed nine rebounds as North Valleys improved to 8-7 in Division I.

For the Cougars, Katrina Prendergast scored 15 points.

BISHOP MANOGUE 63, CARSON 31 at Manogue: Breezi Holt scored 19 points and Tawni Henderson added 11 to lead the Miners.

For Carson, Maddie Preston scored 11 points and Michelle Perry added 10.

GALENA 45, WOOSTER 35 at Wooster: Josie Peck scored 10 points to lead the Grizzlies.

For the Colts, Tara Garcia led all scorers with 15 points.
