Jacob Henker had 15 points and 15 rebounds as Lennox defeated fifth-ranked (Class A) Tri-Valley 47-36 in boys basketball Tuesday night in Colton.

Lane Smet had 11 points for Lennox (9-6), which is host to McCook Central-Montrose on Friday.

Will Steineke scored 13 points for Tri-Valley (11-5), which is at McCook Central-Montrose on Tuesday.

STURGIS 56, PIERRE 53 in Pierre – Kellen Barden had 25 points and nine rebounds and Jacob Simmons contributed 22 points for Sturgis (10-5), which won its fourth in a row.

Brevin Kaiser scored 16 points and Nick Rabern 13 for Pierre (9-6), which is host to O’Gorman on Friday. Sturgis is at Chadron (Neb.) on Saturday.

MITCHELL 63, HURON 61 in Mitchell Beau Brown’s 16-foot jumper with three seconds remaining broke a 61-61 for Mitchell (8-9).

Brown scored 18 points while Kanin Nelson scored 11 and Carter Brewster had 10 rebounds for Mitchell, which is at Brandon Valley on Thursday.

For Huron (4-12), Hyland Heinz scored 12 points and Peyton Carr had 10 rebounds. Huron is host to Brandon Valley on Friday.

VIBORG-HURLEY 48, AVON 44 in Viborg – Lucas Jacobson scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Viborg-Hurley (9-8).

For Avon (2-13), Logan Mudder scored 26 points and had eight rebounds.

Viborg-Hurley is at Parker and Avon is at Tripp-Delmont-Armour on Friday.

DELL RAPIDS 83, MOUNT VERNON-PLANKINTON 52 in Dell Rapids – Adam Karst scored 19 points and Ty Hoglund had 15 points to lead Class A second-ranked Dell Rapids (14-1).

Zane Schumaker and Sam White each scored 12 points while Ben Hammer had 10 points. Hammer and Hoglund had nine rebounds apiece while Schumaker had eight assists and Hammer blocked five shots.

For Mount Vernon-Plankinton (9-6), Hayden Schmidt scored 15 points.

Dell Rapids is host to Dakota Valley on Friday; MV-P is at Ethan on Thursday.

BALTIC 46, HOWARD 30 in HowardJon Wilhelmsen scored 15 points and Joe Muston had 11 points to lead Baltic (2-13), which snapped a seven-game losing streak.

David Noid scored 10 points and Tate Schwader had nine points for Howard (0-15).

Baltic is host to Alcester-Hudson on Friday; Howard is at Garretson on Thursday.

PARKER 65, BRIDGEWATER-EMERY 51 in Emery – Landon Leberman scored 20 points and Cody Knock 19 for Parker.

Kelby Peters added 11 points and Leberman collected nine rebounds for Parker (13-5), which is host to Viborg-Hurley on Friday.

Sam Arend scored 18 points, Cole Gassman 14 and Lucas Miller 10 for Bridgewater-Emery (8-7), which plays Sully Buttes on Saturday in the Dakota Wesleyan Classic at the Corn Palace.

VIBORG-HURLEY 48, AVON 44 in Viborg – Brian Dangel scored 16 points and Lucas Jacobson 12 for Viborg-Hurley (9-8), which visits Parker on Friday.

Logan Mudder had 26 points and eight rebounds for Avon (2-13), which is at Tripp-Delmont-Armour on Friday.

IRENE-WAKONDA 68, WYNOT (Nen.) 66 in Irene – Gabe King scored 23 points and had 18 rebounds while Tate Gale scored 18 points for Irene-Wakonda (12-4). Trey King had 11 points and Levi Van Beek scored 10 points for Wynot.

For Wynot (15-6), Cody Stratman had 14 points while Trevor Gartner and Jalen Wieseler each had 13 points. Irene-Wakonda is at Canton on Friday.

ELK POINT-JEFFERSON 60, HOMER (Neb.) 51 in Elk Point – Brandon Koupal scored 23 points and had eight rebounds while John Schuh had 14 points for Elk Point-Jefferson (7-9).

For Homer (9-10), Preston Bodlak scored 16 points and had eight rebounds. Jake Brand scored 15 points and Dalton Tremayne 10 points. Elk Point-Jefferson is host to Beresford on Friday.

PARKSTON 69, SCOTLAND 42 in Parkston – Parkston (9-7) received 13 points apiece from Ty Kinneberg, Dillan Thuringer and Wes Genant. For Scotland (8-8), which lost its seventh in a row, Shaye Bloch scored 17 points and Logon Fischer 11 points.

WEBSTER AREA 71, NORTHWESTERN 44 in Webster– Jordan Bauer scored 17 points while Braden Rithmiller and Noah Thurston each had 14 points for Webster Area (3-13), which snapped an eight-game losing streak. For Northwestern (2-13), Derek Boekelheide scored 15 points.

CHAMBERLAIN 65, CROW CREEK 39 in Chamberlain– Seth Friesz scored 26 points and Adrian Farmer had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Chamberlain (12-5). For Crow Creek (7-11), Devon Drapeau scored 28 points.

SULLY BUTTES 50, HERREID-SELBY AREA 48 in Onida – Reed Feller scored 18 points for Sully Buttes (6-8) in the overtime victory. Brady Fiedler scored 20 points for Herreid-Selby (10-6), which lost its third in a row.

SISSETON 55, WHEATON (Minn.) 35 in Sisseton – Ethan Kranhold scored 20 points and Dominic White 16 for Sisseton (6-11). Carson Maudal scored 15 points for Wheaton.

WALTHILL (Neb.) 75, GAYVILLE-VOLIN 55 in Gayville – Kaycee Porter scored 21 points for Walthill (11-6). Grant Rice and Ryan Adams each scored 13 for Gayville-Volin (5-12).


HILLS-BEAVER CREEK 66, EDGERTON 54 in Edgerton Cory Taubert scored 18 points and had 15 rebounds for Hills-Beaver Creek (14-7). Zach Scholten and Cooper Vaughn each scored 13 points apiece.

For Edgerton (3-16), Luke Drooger had 21 points while Mason Sluis scored 19 points and Wyatt Butson 13 points.

Hills-Beaver Creek is at Southwest Christian and Edgerton is host to Ellsworth on Friday.


MOC-FLOYD VALLEY 65, WEST LYON 57 in Inwood – Christian Korver scored 18 points to lead MOC-Floyd Valley (17-2).

For West Lyon (7-12), Dylan Whalen had 15 points.

MOC-Floyd Valley is host to Central Lyon and West Lyon is at Sioux Center on Friday.


TRI-VALLEY 62, SIOUX FALLS CHRISTIAN 36 at SFC –Maggie Heiberger had 15 points and eight rebounds and Samantha Sommer scored 10 points for Tri-Valley (12-5), ranked No. 5 in Class A.

Kensi Brands and Kylee VanEgdom each scored seven points for the Chargers (8-9).

Tri-Valley is at Tea Area and SFC is at Chester Area on Friday.

Jaden Bly scored 11 points for Garretson (6-11),.

HANSON 67, FREEMAN 54 in Freeman – Hannah Marquardt scored 24 points and Katlyn Schroeder had 10 points for Hanson (15-3), which won its sixth consecutive game.

For Freeman (14-4), Shelby Jensen scored 16 points while Cailey Roth and Erika Sage each had 12 points.
