Michael Hofinger’s goal in the 51st minute gave the Liberty Common School’s soccer team the 1-0 win over Bruce Randolph on Friday, propelling the Eagles to the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.

Awaiting the No. 2 seeded Eagles is No. 18 Coal Ridge. Game time is 11 a.m. Saturday at Fossil Ridge High School.

Hofinger’s goal came from 25 yards out, hitting the post and ricocheting in the net. Goalkeeper Jack Hosek posted the shutout, recording eight saves.
