The Liberty Common High School boys basketball team picked up its second straight win since dropping two spots in the 3A rankings of the latest Associated Press poll this week, defeating Peak to Peak 65-48 at home Wednesday night.
Andrew Jones and Josh VanVleet each scored a team-high 17 points, which included Jones hitting three of the Eagles’ five baskets from behind the 3-point line. Philip Allmendinger also scored in double figures with 11 points.
No. 9 Liberty Common (7-1, 2-0 Mile High League) will next play Dawson School at home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
BRIGHTON 65, POUDRE 58 — The Impalas dropped their eighth consecutive game at home.
Poudre’s Mitchel Yokem scored a game-high 21 points, which included hitting three 3-pointers. Val Salumu and Ben Francia contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively, for the Impalas.
Poudre (1-11, 0-1 Front Range League) will next play on the road at Monarch at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
LIBERTY COMMON 55, PEAK TO PEAK 32 — The Eagles are now riding a four-game win streak after their road win.
Halley Miklos led the team in scoring with 15 points. Kayla Rhoads and Hannah Ellis added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Liberty Common (6-2, 3-0 MHL) will next play Dawson School at home at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
