SHEBOYGAN – Oshkosh North used a strong showing in the doubles flights to take third at the eight-team Sheboygan Invitational on Saturday.
All three doubles flights advanced to the championship match, with the No. 3 pairing of Max Bossert and Isaac Bock capturing the title with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Fond du Lac’s Connor Reams and Kyle Leisses.
The No. 1 pairing of Brandon Hamm and Cade Francour dropped a close match to Fond du Lac’s Kenan Saleh and Matt Riley in the title match, while Logan withers and Ben Laufer survived a three-set semifinal but then lost in the title match.
Kobe Schmitz at No. 4 singles also finished second on the day, dropping just two games to reach the final where he fell 6-2, 6-0 to Fond du Lac’s Drew Jorgensen.
Fond du Lac won the team title by one point over Madison Memorial, with the Spartans finishing 10 points behind in third.

WCTC Tournament: Connor Banergee’s second-place finish at No. 4 singles led the way for Ripon at the conference meet.
The Tigers finished with 16 points and took third behind West De Pere and Xavier in the team standings.
The No. 1 doubles team of Chris Lyke and Beau Ermatinger added a third-place finish for Ripon, while Lucas Peppler was fourth at No. 3 singles.
Waupun Invitational: Winneconne posted a 3-0 record at the invite, outscoring its opponents 27-9 in the three games combined.
The Wolves’ closest game came against Kewaskum where they posted a 4-3 victory, with Annika Gereau getting the win on the mound.
Gereau was also the winning pitcher in a 10-5 victory over Laconia, while Sam Olson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Hannah Peerenboom chipped in a pair of hits.
Winneconne’s other win was a 13-1 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran as Gereau went 3-for-4, Theresa Cosmutto finished with two hits, including a home run, Peerenboom went 2-for-4 and Kylie Whitford was 2-for-3. Larissa Russell got the win on the mound for the Wolves.
Algoma 6, Lourdes Academy 1: The Knights outhit the Wolves 8-6, but couldn’t pick up the nonconference victory.
Mollie Bartlett led the way going 2-for-3 with an RBI for Lourdes, which had runners on base in six of the seven innings. The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the first and remained in front until the sixth when Algoma rallied for all six runs.
Lauren Schiek struck out two and did not walk a batter, but took the loss for the Knights.
Lourdes Academy 4-9, Cambria-Friesland 3-4: The Knights rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the opener and then finished off the sweep in the Trailways Conference doubleheader.
Evan Ganther got the win in the first game for Lourdes, which rallied from a 3-0 deficit to get the win. Ganther struck out five and scattered seven hits in the win.
Nathan Ruegseggar struck out five in the complete-game win in the second game as the Knights jumped to a 5-0 lead and then pulled away in the late innings.
Lourdes went the entire doubleheader without committing an error.
Oshkosh West 3, Sussex Hamilton 1: A.J. Jackson scored a pair of goals and the Wildcats rallied from a 1-0 deficit to notch the nonconference win.
Hamilton scored in the 30th minute to take the lead, but West scored twice in the final five minutes of the first half to go up 2-1 at intermission. Jackson scored the first goal, while Jenna Wojahn added the second.
Jackson then scored early in the second half for the final margin.
Jenna Weber made eight saves in goal for the Wildcats.
Viking Invitational: Richie Swanson fired an 85 to lead Lourdes Academy at the 14-team invitational at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
Brady Schneider added an 86 for the Knights, who shot a team score of 358 to place 12th in the field.
