STEVENS POINT – Wittenberg-Birnamwood freshman Maddy Pietz made quite an impression on her first experience at the Central Wisconsin Conference 8 outdoor track and field meet Saturday.
Pietz claimed conference championships in three individual events — 100-meter dash, 200 and 400 — to help the Chargers easily capture the team championship with 180 points. Bonduel was a distant second with 105.5 points.
Iola-Scandinavia’s Erika Kisting turned in a double in the distance events, topping the field in the 1,600 with a time of 5:20.69 and capturing the 3,200 (11:52.05). Molly Wirtz of Pacelli grabbed a win in the 800 (2:23.22) and Alissa Niuggemann of Amherst finished first in the 300 hurdles (48.84).
Iola-Scandinavia’s Kristian Welch and Andy Trzebiatowski of Amherst both won two events in the boys meet, but Bonduel won the team title with 149 points.

WESTON – Mia Iwinski scored three times, while Aubrey Iwinski and Kaitlyn Hess each chipped in with two goals apiece for the Raiders who enjoyed a perfect run through the tournament.
After conceding an early goal to the Papermakers, Rapids pitched a shutout over the final 158 minutes, 39 seconds as keeper Chani Pulchinski was called on to make four saves the entire day.
“Both of those teams are in our sectional, so we did ourselves a favor as far as getting a home game in the first round,” Raiders coach Nate Cleveland said. “The girls picked it up after that early goal by Kimberly.”

APPLETON – Justice Menge collected five goals and added an assist, while Abby Bohanski grabbed a pair of goals and handed out three assists and the Panthers romped past the Patriots in a nonconference friendly.
Olivia Clemens and Autum Shurbert-Hetzel also found the back of the net for SPASH, and keeper Shayna Molski was credited with 12 saves.

Brianne Huettner, who also homered in the second game, Jane Oligney and Kaylin Ellioff chipped in with two hits apiece in the opener in support of winning pitcher Kendall Johnson.

CHIPPEWA FALLS – No. 4 Chippewa Falls scored two runs in the seventh inning to knock off No. 3 SPASH 3-1 in a matchup of two of the top-ranked Division 1 teams in the state.
The Panthers beat La Crosse Central 10-6 and Wilmot 4-1 in the tournament.
Payton Gaber went 7-for-9 on the day to lead the Panthers.

ROSHOLT – Andy Tepp, Chris Shibilski and Brett Burton had two hits apiece and the Cardinals took advantage of 13 walks and six errors to down the Hornets.
Rosholt bounced back to defeat Greenwood in its second game of the day thanks to Spencer Hahn, who stemmed a Greenwood rally in the seventh inning to earn the save in relief of winning pitcher Ryan Rzentkowski.
Hahn had three hits, including a home run, and Jarod Kurtzweil added three hits and three RBI against Pacelli.
The Cardinals also picked up their 14th win in the last 15 games with the victory over Greenwood.
