The St. Philip boys’ basketball team utilized a strong first half and held off Centreville’s comeback attempt to win 56-42 in non-conference action on Monday.
The win was the first non-conference victory of the season for the Tigers (4-3).
“We played a phenomenal first half, we were up 33-15 at the half,” said St. Philip coach Dino English. “They came back out I thought our turnovers were down, then we played a terrible defensive second half and let them back in the game. But still a good win, I’m happy with it.”
St. Philip was led by Hunter Haley with 13 points, five rebounds and six steals. Dreyson English had 11 points and two steals; Brayden Darr had 10 points, three rebounds and three steals and Kevin Greenman had six rebounds to go with his four points.
