No.2 Providence smoked Lawrenceburg in three sets to win the Class 3-A regional volleyball title on Tuesday night.

The visiting Pioneers (34-3) cruised to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-3 victory over the Tigers (33-3).

Providence advanced to the two-match semistate at Jasper and will meet the Chatard-Indianapolis Ritter winner in the second game. The final is set for Saturday night.

In the Class 2-A regional at Austin, No.7 Henryville (30-5) blasted past Austin 25-12, 25-12, 25-18. The Eagles finished 17-9.

The Hornets advanced to the semistate at South Decatur and will meet the Speedway-North Putnam winner in the first game on Saturday.

No.2 Christian Academy fought off host Trinity Lutheran in three sets to win its third straight Class A regional crown.

The Warriors (26-6) posted a 25-16, 25-18, 25-23 victory and advanced to the semistate at Loogootee. CAI, the defending semistate champion, will meet the Bloomfield-Tindley winner in the second game on Saturday.
