Visiting Zanesville was held to three hits in a 6-1 loss to New Philadelphia in East Central Ohio League action Tuesday at Tuscora Park.

Zanesville opened the game strong. Braxton Snyder led off the first win a walk and Josh Clark then hit a one-out double, but Quaker starter Seth Huprich followed with a strikeout and a groundout to end the threat.

The Quakers led 3-0 when the Blue Devils (5-10, 3-3) got on the board. Heath Cooper led off the frame with a walk, moved to second on Clark’s two-out single, went to third on a wild pitch and scored when Caden Mumaw’s grounder was bobbled by the shortstop.

New Philadelphia scored three in the fourth to seal the win.

Zak Parmer surrendered six runs, four earned, on eight hits with one strikeout and no walks in four innings to take the loss.

Huprich struck out nine and walked four in a complete game and had a double and a single and Garrett Harstine led the Quaker offense with a two-run homer and a double.
