QUICK RECAP: Brew Tech falls short in 5A title game

By

BIRMINGHAM It was just one of those days when nothing went right for Brewbaker Tech.

Fast-break layups rolled out, normally crisp passes were just out of reach. It all happened at the worst time for the Rams, who fell to Wenonah 49-29 in the Class 5A state championship game in the BJCC on Saturday.

Wenonah won its second straight championship.

Bianca Jackson led the Rams with 11 points and grabbed two rebounds. Michaia Fluellen had eight points and four boards.

Brew Tech came in averaging almost 60 points per game, but didn’t score more than eight in a quarter. Brew Tech also had 27 turnovers compared to Wenonah’s 13.

As bad as things went for the Rams, that’s how well it went for the Dragons. Wenonah scored on its first five possessions and shot 49 percent for the game.
