The G.W. Carver girls fell to Blount 46-37 at the South Regional semifinals in Dothan on Friday morning.
Blount held and eight-point lead after the first quarter and went ahead 24-15 at halftime.
The Wolverines fell down 30-18 early in the third quarter and trailed by 13 heading into the final period. The third quarter featured a six minute scoring drought for the Wolverines, which led to a 7-0 Blount run.
Carver put together a run in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit. Demesha Bell’s three-point play made the margin seven points with less than two minutes to play.
Bell led the Wolverines with nine points. Tatyana Calhoun had eight points and 11 rebounds. All of her points came in the first half. Shaonica Thomas added eight points and 10 rebounds.
