Rainier Beach’s Dejounte Murray carried his team to a win in the Sea-King 3A tournament and a Super 25 ranking.

Rainier Beach (Seattle) had its second consecutive big week to vault its way from No. 34 to No. 25 in the Super 25 boys basketball rankings. The Vikings (22-2) followed up an 84-81 defeat of Garfield (Seattle) two weeks ago with a 70-56 defeat of Bellevue in the Sea-King 3A title game on Saturday.

Washington signee Dejounte Murray had 22 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in the defeat of Bellevue. He also had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in an 87-59 defeat of Seattle Prep (Seattle) on Thursday.

The only team to fall out of the Super 25 was No. 6 DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.), which ended its regular season with two consecutive losses, including a 49-46 loss to Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.) earlier this week. The Stags (25-3) didn’t fall far, dropping only to No. 26, as they have a chance to win the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Tournament.
