Recent Smoky Mountain graduate Cal Raleigh has been named to the All-USA North Carolina baseball team published by USA Today.
Recognition from the national publication comes on the heels of a senior year in which the Mustangs catcher was named the Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year and the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference Player of the Year as well as a Louisville Slugger All-American.
Raleigh batted .447 with 23 RBIs, 20 stolen bases, 10 home runs, five doubles and 31 runs scored for the WNCAC champion Mustangs (17-6).
As a pitcher, Raleigh was 1-0 with a 3.62 earned-run average and eight strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched.
After asking for and receiving his release from Clemson, Raleigh is currently undecided on where he will play college baseball.
