Megan Randolph drained an ace on the eighth hole at Port Huron Golf Club on Friday on her way to victory in the fourth event of the Blue Water Junior Golf Association season.
Randolph shot a 91 on the day, winning the Girls 14-and-older Flight A division by seven strokes. While she said that wasn’t playing her best on the day, it’s no doubt that her first career hole-in-one will make it a round she’ll never forget.
“I thought it was going to be like two or three feet away, so I started turning around,” said Randolph, who is entering her sophomore year at Port Huron Northern. “The girl I was playing with was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s going in.’
“My jaw just dropped, I didn’t really know what to do. I had to remind myself that I still had 10 holes to play.”
Emma Kerr was second in the flight, shooting a 98.
Tyler Kautz won the 14-and-older Flight B girls division, shooting a 101. Kaity Rittner was second with a 106.
Jesse Kautz shot a 78 to win the girls 10-11 division, while Allison Gottshall won the girls 12-13 division with a 63.
The boys 16-and-over division was won by Mitch Bazinski, who shot an 87. Austin Miller finished second, shooting an 89.
Justin McCown had the low round of the day, shooting 75 to win the boys 14-15 division. He was followed by Nicklaus Bailey, who shot a 79. Benjamin Walton won the 14-15 nine-hole division, shooting 53.
Christian Long shot 42 to win the boys 12-13 division, while Mike Ward was second with a 45.
The boys 10-11 division was won by Sam Hillebrandt, who shot 47. Timothy Monaghan finished second with an 18.
