All Keith Gavin wanted was the opportunity, and when it came, he was ready.
Gavin, a wide receiver at Wakulla in Crawfordville, Fla., said it’s “always been a dream” to play an All-America game and that dream will come to fruition in Orlando at the Jan. 2 Under Armour All-America Game.
“I finally got the opportunity to accept it. And I’m accepting it, and happy to accept it,” he said Wednesday as he received his honorary jersey during the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance.

Gavin, a 1,000-yard receiver as a junior, is ranked as the No. 11 wide receiver and No. 80 player overall in the class by ESPN.
He had been committed to Florida State, which is about 20 minutes from home, but decommitted in August. He told ESPN.com that he has narrowed his choices to Florida State, Georgia and Alabama, although he plans on taking a visit to Florida this weekend and Clemson could be in the mix too.
