Noblesville’s John Kiser finished up July with interest from a wide range of schools at various levels.

Kiser, a 6-5 senior-to-be, said he love to play Division I basketball if the opportunity is there. Air Force, Austin Peay, IPFW and Western Michigan are among the schools with interest at that level.

“But wherever I can go and get an education,” said Kiser, an IndyStar Indiana Junior All-Star last season. “Right now I have schools looking at me but want to get me on campus first (before a potential offer).”

Kiser, who averaged 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds last season, also has interest from UIndy, Indiana Wesleyan and Purdue-Calumet, among others. Kiser had patella tendinitis near the end of the school season and into the spring, but said he was feeling healthy at the end of July.

The programs recruiting Kiser like his toughness and versatility. He’s known as a strong defender and rebounder who can also hit the outside shot.

Kiser has visited Western Michigan and said he’d like to get to Austin Peay and IPFW in the near future. He took an unofficial visit to Air Force over the weekend. Division II Hillsdale (Mich.) has told him an offer would likely be forthcoming if he made a visit.

“I don’t really have a set plan yet,” he said. “I’d like to get to a few schools and see what happens.”

*Columbia City’s Brachen Hazen (2016) picked up an offer from Clemson on Monday. The 6-8 Hazen was offered by Maryland last week and also has offers from Ball State, Central Florida, Creighton, Richmond and Valparaiso.

*Keegan Northern, a 6-7 forward from Martinsville, has committed to the University of Indianapolis. Northern, who will be a senior this year, is a versatile scorer with range. … Logansport’s Jalen Adaway (2017) visited Ball State over the weekend. The 6-5 Adaway picked up an offer from Ball State in July. … Park Tudor guard Kobe Webster, who picked a Ball State offer last week, also visited the Muncie campus over the weekend. … Tipton guard Mason Degenkolb (2016) has committed to Taylor University. … Cloverdale guard Cooper Neese (2017) was offered by Indiana State on Monday. Neese was previously offered by Evansville.
