It’s time to push the re-set button for Peach Blossom AAA and Western AAA region teams, which will begin conference play Friday night.

That’s good news for Daniel, which is off to a rare 0-3 start, and Wren, which is 1-2 after back-to-back defeats. Both have been beaten by Easley, which is playing well under first-year coach John Windham.

The bad news is that Seneca beat Easley 38-0. In fact, the Bobcats, ranked fifth in Class AAA in this week’s S.C. Prep Football Media Poll, have begun the season with victories against AAAA schools Greenville, Easley and T.L. Hanna.

At this point, Seneca would have to be the favorite in the Western AAA Region, followed by No. 7 Belton-Honea Path (2-1).

In the Peach Blossom, Greer (3-0), ranked third in the state, has done nothing to downgrade its status as the preseason favorite, but clearly the rest of the region has improved.

Emerald (2-1) has lost only to unbeaten Abbeville, which is No. 2 in AA. The Vikings will play at Greer Friday.

Chapman (2-1) has lost only to Woodruff, which is No. 8 in AAA. Chapman will play at Travelers Rest Friday. The Devildogs are 3-0 for the first time since 1990.

Southside, 3-0 for just the second time since 1992, hosts Berea (2-1), and Eastside, off to a 2-1 start, plays at Blue Ridge (1-2).

Conference play also begins for teams in the Skyline AA Region, two of which are ranked. No. 8 Woodruff (2-1) plays at Blacksburg, and No. 10 Pendleton (2-1) travels to Chesnee (0-3).

Also, Carolina (0-3) plays at Landrum (2-1), and Powdersville (1-2) hosts Liberty (1-2).
