KUSA – It is a battle of the undefeated. Both the Regis Jesuit Raiders and the Dakota Ridge Eagles are undefeated thus far into the 5A ice hockey season. The Raiders hold a 5-0-0 and the Eagles hold a 6-0-0 record going into the game at Family Sports Ice Arena.
The Eagles jumped to an early lead, tallying a goal within the first two minutes of the game. However, as time ticked down, the Raiders knotted the game up after some crucial power plays to help swing the momentum.
In a penalty filled game, the Raiders go to the penalty kill frequently in the second period, yet succeed in holding off the Eagles. The kills sparked confidence in the Raiders and Regis Jesuit went to work scoring 2 back-to-back goals to lead 3-1 after the second period.
In the third, Regis Jesuit held onto their 3-1 before netting an insurance goal to put the Raiders up 4-1. The Eagles surged with a last minute effort netting a single goal before the clock ran out leaving the skilled Regis Jesuit Raiders victorious.
At the end of the three period, Regis Jesuit holds on to their undefeated season with a 4-2 win versus the Dakota Ridge Eagles.
