Robbinsville's Long wins earns roster spot at Wake Forest

Former Robbinsville standout Amber Long was recently added to the Wake Forest women’s basketball team as a walk-on.

Long attended a tryout earlier this month. She is a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard.

Long was a four-year All-Big Smoky Mountain Conference player and three-year captain for the Black Knights. She scored 1,452 career points and set a school record for 3-pointers (103). Long was part of the 2014 Blue-White All-Star game.

Long and the Deacons have a 4-1 record ahead of Sunday’s game at American.
