The Mountain Home Lady Bombers found themselves in a 7-0 hole and never could climb out, falling 14-4 in five innings to Rogers Heritage in nonconference softball action Friday night at Keller Park.

The Lady War Eagles scored five runs in the top of the first inning on several Lady Bomber errors and added two more in the second on two hits and an error.

Mountain Home got going with three runs in the bottom of the second. PeytonGunn singled, Hannah Cantrell reached on an error and Maly Tabor walked, loading the bases. Alivia O’Brien walked, scoring one run, and Michelle Beebe reached on an error that brought home two more to make it 7-3.

Rogers Heritage scored three more with two outs in the fourth. A double, RBI single and two-run home run highlighted the Lady War Eagles’ attack.

The Lady War Eagles scored four in the fifth for a 14-3 lead. Mountain Home made three more errors in the inning.

Mountain Home’s Raygan Shelton hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth, but Rogers Heritage ended the game with three straight strikeouts to win via the run rule.

Hannah Cantrell took the loss for Mountain Home (7-7 overall) after five innings in the circle.

Mountain Home also fell in the junior varsity game, 5-4, with Madelyn Yates taking the loss in the circle.

The Lady Bombers host Marion on Tuesday in a 7A/6A-East Conference game.
