Woodmore’s baseball team matched the single-season record for wins with 17 as it topped Hopewell-Loudon 3-2 in a Division III sectional championship Thursday.
The Wildcats (17-6) play top-seed Edison at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heidelberg University.
“I could not be more proud of the job we have done this year as a team,” Roth said. “Everyone had a crucial role in our tying the school record.”
Tristan Roth struck out five and didn’t allow an earned run for the complete-game victory Thursday. The Chieftains scored once in the first and once in the seventh before Roth induced a groundout with a runner on second.
Matt Depner and Roth each scored in the first inning as Connor Bringman drove in a run. Mason Beachler, who had two hits in the game, added a double in the inning and scored in the fifth.
