Tyler Lyons drove in three runs in Ludlow’s 15-2 win over Holmes Monday.

Ryle brought in Troy Coleman to relieve starter Jake Ziegelmeyer in the bottom of the seventh inning and preserved the win in the Raiders, the seventh-ranked team in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches’ poll, 3-1 win the No. 4 Colonels.

Coleman got a Dixie batter to fly out to right field and Ryle ended the game by throwing out a runner trying to tag up. It was the third double-play of the day for the Raiders. The save was Coleman’s second of the season.

Ziegelmeyer had pitched well on his way to earning his first win of the year, going 6 1/3 innings and only giving up one run. The junior also had a double at the plate.

Brady Ast also went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple and Max Lonnemann went 2-3 for Ryle.

Nick Niehaus went 3-for-3 with a double for Dixie.

Covington Catholic 7, Conner 2: CovCath senior outfielder Nico Pangallo went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Ryan McGinnis knocked in two runs after going 2-for-3 and Nate Bailey finished with three RBI for the Colonels.

Ludlow 15, Holmes 2 (five innings): Ludlow junior Evan Sloan knocked in two runs on 3-of-5 batting in a five-inning win. TC Eads added two runs batted in and Tyler Lyons knocked in three.
