Trailing 3-1, Lakota West scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull away, defeating Colerain 11-4 Wednesday.
Senior Austin Allinger went 3-for-4 with a solo home run to lead the Firebirds. Senior JJ Johnson was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and Dallas Hall went 2-for-3. Sophomore Zack Bush earned the win in relief, moving to 3-0.
The Cardinals were led by senior Jacob Murray, who went 2-for-3.
Lakota West, ranked No. 2 in the Enquirer Division I coaches’ poll, improved to 14-2 this season. Colerain, ranked No. 5, snapped a four-game winning streak to fall to 11-2.
Moeller 4, St. Xavier 0: Senior Josh Hollander belted a solo home run in the first inning for Moeller.
Junior pitcher Nick Bennett (3-0) allowed just two hits, while striking out 11 batters, to lead the top-ranked Crusaders. Junior Kyle Butz and senior Jordan Ramey each added an RBI to provide insurance runs.
Mason 13, Hamilton 1 (six innings): Dylan Bryan and Ronnie Engelman each drove in four runs to lead the Comets. Bryan was 4-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Engelman also had a double and triple and went 2-for-4.
Andy Marzheuser allowed only one hit and struck out seven for No. 3 Mason
Walnut Hills 1, Turpin 0: Senior pitcher Cole Murphy threw a complete game no-hitter, striking out five batters, to lead the Eagles.
Scoreless in the bottom of the sixth, junior Mikey Trimble stole home as part of a double-steal, to put Walnut Hills ahead.
CHCA 10, St. Bernard 0 (five innings): Senior pitcher Tommy Yates threw a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters, to move to 2-0.
Yates threw a perfect game in his win over Seven Hills on April 13th. Yates allowed only one batter to reach base on Wednesday, the leadoff batter, who reached on a strikeout that got by the catcher. Senior Ryan Smith had two RBI, and junior Johnny Noyen went 2-for-3 for the Eagles.
Goshen 6, Batavia 0: Jesse Peters struck out 17 batters and allowed only two hits for Goshen.
Amelia 6, New Richmond 0: Junior pitcher Darek Vaske pitched a complete game shutout, striking out seven batters.
Little Miami 3, Talawanda 2: Trailing 2-1 in the fourth inning, sophomore Shelby Russell hit a two-run single to give the Panthers the lead for good. Russell was 2-for-3 in the game.
Sophomore pitcher Kaleigh Kilburn picked up the win to move to 4-0 this season.
Amelia 11, New Richmond 1 (five innings): Maggie Block went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Barons. Kayla Hamm was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Elena McDonald went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Badin 13, Carroll 0 (five innings): Freshman pitcher Nicole Rawlings threw a no-hitter, striking out eight batters.
Sophomore Shelby Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a triple, and senior Lauren Ahr was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Rams.
