David Hanyard returned to the Lafayette Jeff lineup on Wednesday night and made his presence felt immediately.
The junior guard hit six 3-pointers and scored 37 points, leading the Bronchos to a 71-64 victory over Crown Point at Crawley Center.
Jeff held Crown Point’s Grant Gelon, an Indiana University recruit, to 5 of 15 from the field. Gelon scored 15 for the Bulldogs, who were led by Blake Bonin’s 21 points.
Darian Collins scored 13, added three assists and two steals for Lafayette Jeff (2-0). Keaton Schreckengast scored eight and Danny Isbell pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
North Montgomery 63
Alex Parsons nearly collected a double-double, scoring nine points and leading the Chargers with a game-high 10 rebounds.
Devon Zachary supplied 18 points and Caleb Randolph scored 12 in a winning effort, while Baylee Adams filled the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds and five assists.

The Hot Dogs receiving double figures from three players and an additional seven points from Griffin Harris in a win over their county rival.
Jarrod Smith’s double-double helped Frankfort maintain a lead throughout as he provided 25 points and 10 rebounds. Carter Taylor scored 24 and Jordan Campbell added 17.
Kale Morris’ 22 led the Gophers, who also got 15 from Drew Scott and 10 from Jared Stillwell.

Tommy Davidson led three Bulldogs in double-figures with 20 points.
Axle Brandenburg added 14 and Keenan Orr posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Blaine Walters led the Oracles with 22 points.
