Matt Roop scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a fielder’s choice to lead Harrison’s baseball team past Chesterton 2-1 on Saturday.
The Raiders also defeated Huntington North 7-3.
Shane Stetler and Matt McConnell combined to limit Chesterton to three hits.
Against the Vikings, Jake Fernung had a pair of singles and scored two runs. Rhett Baxter’s RBI single in the fifth was part of a four-inning for the Raiders. Leighton Mennen earned the win on the mound.
McCutcheon outscored Huntington North and Anderson by a combined 23-3.
Tyson Scheumann led an 11-hit attack with a double and single and drove in three runs during the 10-0 victory over the Vikings. Braden Giroux allowed one hit over five innings to earn the victory.
Against the Indians, McCutcheon expanded a 5-0 lead into a 12-run cushion after scoring seven times in the fourth. Jackson Smeltz had two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs. Sean Roginski added a pair of doubles and scored three runs.
Jeff wins twice
The Bronchos posted a 2-1 victory over Anderson and shutout Chesterton 10-0.
Zach Vandivier scattered three hits and registered eight strikeouts in Game 1 against the Indians, who limited Jeff to just two hits.
Jeremy Griggs had two RBIs and three hits to lead the Bronchos in the nightcap.
North White sweeps
The Vikings posted wins of 10-0 and 18-0 over West Central.
In the opener. Caleb Hendress pitched a six-inning no-hitter and Luke Diener led the offense with a double and a triple.
North White scored 10 runs in the first inning of Game 2. Jake Quasebarth had two doubles, scored three runs and collected five RBIs. Clint Hendress had two hits and drove in two runs. Ty Mattix scattered four hits to earn the victory for the Vikings.
Clinton Prairie 9, Frankfort 7
Kale Morris had two hits and drove in three runs and Seth Cook produced a three-run double to lead the Gophers.
Zaliyah Johnson and Zoie Sexton each had four hits, but Jeff lost to Mishawaka Marian, Penn and New Prairie.
Frontier 13, South Newton 3
Ceira White had three hits and Abbie Mikesell, Savanna Harrison and Destinee Boatman each added two to lead the Falcons.
Savanna Harrison struck out 14 and allowed five hits.
The Bison defeated Fountain Central 14-7 and 6-3 behind three doubles by Kelsey Minniear
