SHELTON, Conn. –
Six players scored for Division I Sacred Heart as it went on to topple St. Michael’s College 6-3 in women’s hockey action on Sunday, the Purple Knights’ first game in nearly a month.
Casey Stathopoulos and Alanna Woodford each had a goal and two assists to lead the Pionners (6-4).
Amanda Kempainen notched a goal and an assist for St. Michael’s (2-8), which last played on Dec. 6. Maire Bartkus and Katherine O’Brien also scored. Abby Burke (12 saves) and Erica Ragazzo (nine) split time in net for the Purple Knights.
H.S. GIRLS HOCKEY
• Northfield 3, Missisquoi 1: Catherine Miles tucked away bookend goals in the first and third periods to help lift visiting Northfield to a win over Missisquoi on Saturday.
Bridget Doney also tallied for the 8-1 Marauders off a feed from Miles and Analiese Morvan made 14 saves in net.
Brianna Walker tacked on unassisted third-period goal for the Thunderbirds (5-4) and Hannah Bockus finished with 25 stops.
H.S. BOYS HOCKEY
• Harwood 4, Stowe 1: Eli Rivers scored twice as host Harwood defeated Stowe to give coach Dave Morse his 200th career victory on Saturday.
Connor Dow (assist) and Adam Lamson also struck for the Highlanders and Hunter Wimble dished out two assists. Niilo Tulkki turned aside 27 shots.
Chad Haggerty recorded the lone goal for the Raiders while Dylan Whitaker made 29 saves.
H.S. GIRLS BASKETBALL
• Lamoille 61, Missisquoi 19: Freshman Emily Peck delivered a game-high 14 points, Jasmin Daigle-Arnold and Emily Peavy added 12 apiece and host Lamoille topped Missisquoi to win its annual holiday tournament on Saturday.
The Lancers, who led 29-2 at halftime, improve to 6-1.
