Sacred Heart Academy product Maddie Rose Hamilton is one of 20 female golfers who have been selected to participate in the 26th annual Wyndham Cup later this month.
Since 1990, the Wyndham Cup has brought together some of the country’s top junior golfers in an East-West match-play tournament. This year’s event is set for July 27-30 at Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Wyndham Cup features five formats: four-ball, mixed four-ball, foursomes, mixed foursomes and singles. Every player competes in singles matches and three of the four other formats.
Hamilton, who will play for the East team, is a 2015 Sacred Heart product who has signed to play college golf at Notre Dame.
She helped Sacred Heart win four straight state team titles and finished among the top 10 individuals in each of the last three state tournaments, tying for third as a sophomore, tying for second as a junior and tying for fifth as a senior.
Hamilton was named an honorable-mention Rolex Junior All-American by the American Junior Golf Association following her senior season.
