South Warren scored four times in the first half, including twice in the final 10 seconds of the second quarter, en route to a 36-6 victory over visiting Shelby County on Friday in a KHSAA Class 4-A state semifinal football game.

South Warren will play in the championship game against Johnson Central (12-1), a 21-14 winner over Wayne County (11-3) in Friday’s other Class 4-A semifinal.

Shelby County (12-2) was kept off the board until the fourth quarter, when Tyler Drane completed a 22-yard scoring pass to Brandon Davis with 5:20 remaining in the game. Drane’s two-point conversion run failed, accounting for the game’s final score.

South Warren (14-0), which led 28-0 at halftime, relied on quarterback Ryder Litten, who rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two more. He finished 8-for-12 passing for 68 yards and with a game-leading 115 yards rushing.

Drane was 5-of-10 passing for 61 yards with a TD, and Michael Perry led Shelby County with 44 yards on seven carries and 39 yards receiving on four catches.
