Six Hillsboro wrestlers in 5A state semifinals

The Hillsboro Spartans entered Friday with 12 wrestlers qualified for the OSAA 5A wrestling state championships at Veterans Memorial Coliesum. Seven wrestlers moved on to the state quarterfinals Friday morning. An impressive six Spartans are in the semifinals with the chance of fulfilling their dreams of being a state champion on Saturday.

No. 2 seed Javien Rodriguez won by technical fall 15-0 against Dallas’ Ryan Bibler.

No. 1 seed Peyton Bell won by fall in 3:18 against Redmond’s Austin Doescher.

No. 3 seed Matt Peterson won by fall in 3:44 against Hood River Valley’s Jason Shaner.

No. 1 seed Redmond’s Mitchell Willett defeated Gabe Schade by fall in 1:31.

No. 3 seed Hunter Morse won 3-2 against Summit’s Jason Thompson.
