The top eight teams in the USA TODAY High School Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Super 25 are all carrying undefeated records as the season heads toward the playoffs in most states.

No. 1 Mission Viejo (Calif.) continued its dominant play, bolstered by the power of Alyssa Palomino, who set the California career home run record last week with her 55th, and pitcher Taylor McQuillin, who has won 94 career games and is in pursuit of the CIF Southern Section record of 100.

No. 2 Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.) pushed its state record to 86 consecutive wins, heading into a game against North Iredell (Olin, N.C.) on Friday.

Six new teams moved in the Super 25, including three with perfect records: No. 15 Sherwood (Sandy Springs, Md.), No. 17 Woodinville (Wash.) and No. 22 Eagle (Idaho). Other newcomers were No. 18 West Orange (Winter Garden, Fla.), No. 24  McCracken County (Paducah, Ky.) and No. 25 Orange (Calif.) Lutheran.
