Bound Brook 12, Mount St. Mary 1 (5 innings): Megan Krantz posted three hits, including two doubles, scored twice and drove in four runs to lead Bound Brook. Aimee Sarboukh and Megan Tomaselli added two hits and two RBIs each for the Crusaders (3-0), while Charli Fillmore allowed a run on five hits, walked one and struck out nine to grab the W.
Middlesex 5, Cardinal McCarrick 3 (8 innings): Brielle Murillo tripled in a run and Irene Motssis smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday to lift the Middlesex High School softball team to a 5-3 victory over Cardinal McCarrick. Motssis finished 3-for-4 for the Blue Jays (2-3), while Jackie Riley tripled, scored two runs and drove in another for Cardinal McCarrick (1-1).
Gill St. Bernard’s 17, Manville 6 (6 innings): Kennedy Whitehead finished 5-for-5 with a double, run and eight RBIs to power Gill St. Bernard’s. Meg Donlin added three hits, four runs and three RBIs for the Knights, who improved to 3-3. Julie Pankowski doubled, homered, scored two runs and posted three RBIs for Manville (2-2), which also got two hits and a run from Briana Roche.
Voorhees 9, Pingry 1: Victoria Furka posted three hits, two runs and three RBIs and Tara Morash finished with two hits, a run and two RBIs to send Voorhees. Morgan Clemens also drove in two runs for the Vikings (2-1). Katie Marino, who struck out 12, homered and finished with two hits for Pingry (3-1).
Rahway 16, Roselle Park 6 (6 innings): Chantel Winstead collected five hits, an RBI and four runs scored, and Shanel Stradford tripled, homered and drove in two runs to propel Rahway. Chanel Winstead added a triple and three RBIs for the Indians (3-1).
North Plainfield 21, Rutgers Prep 3 (5 innings): Lauren Lattimore, Olivia Flood and Valerie Weyand all homered and Molly Appazzato tallied a single, double and four RBIs as North Plainfield rolled. Ayah Elsais contributed three hits and two RBIs for the Canucks (3-1).
Bernards 17, Belvidere 2 (5 innings): MacKenzie Dennis drove in three runs and Sammi Re finished 3-for-3 with a triple, RBI and four runs scored to spark Bernards. Caroline Baratta also went 3-for-3 for the Mounntaineers, ripping three doubles, scoring twice and droving in a run. Emily Dean, who scored four times, Julianne Paris and Jill Reinen all drove in a pair in the victory.
Metuchen 20, Mother Seton 5: Brooke Bandola racked up three RBIs on three hits and Allie Chalker and Liane Cifrodelli each went 3-for-4 for Metuchen. Alexandra James went 2-for-3 for Mother Seton.
Spotswood 9, New Brunswick 0: Alexa Raba tossed six two-hit innings, striking out four, and Julie Raba finished it off with a perfect seventh for Spotswood. Julie Raba posted three hits, including a triple, and two runs, while Krista Vanwageninge added two hits, a run and an RBI for the Chargers (4-0). Nichole Rivas and Elaine Rodriguez Moronta notched hits for New Brunswick (0-3).
Governor Livingston 11, Cranford 2: Jamie Belfer led the way for Governor Livingston, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, run and three RBIs. Alanna Namit went 2-for-5 with a run and to RBIs and Alex Foley drove in two runs for the Highlanders (4-0).
A.J. Johnson 10, Westfield 0 (6 innings): Shelby Estevez’s single was the lone hit for Westfield, which ran into Crusaders ace Gianna Randazza. The sophomore walked none and struck out 16 to send the Blue Devils to 2-2.
Phillipsburg 10, Ridge 6: Kristin Miscia went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI, while Kristina Mueller doubled and knocked in a pair for Ridge. Jen Middleton and Allison Haddad each posted two hits and an RBI for the Red Devils (0-6).
Brearley 18, Union Catholic 7: Naya Hodge collected three RBIs and Tyanna Reynolds knocked in a pair for Union Catholic (2-2).
Dayton 8, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 5: Kyra Lockhart posted two hits and four RBIs, while Danielle Scheu finished with two hits and two runs for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (2-2).
