Southfield-Lathrup was in firm control of Friday’s OAA boys basketball crossover game at Rochester.
The Chargers exploded for a convincing 60-27 victory as they excelled on both sides of the ball. Two players reached double figures and Lathrup did not allow any Falcon to reach double-digit scoring.
Veteran senior forward Fred John once again led the Lathrup attack with another impressive double-double that included 21 points and 13 rebounds. Jalen Gatewood also had a strong game with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Lathrup, an OAA Red Division member, hiked its record to 2-4. Rochester plays in the OAA White.
INTER-CITY BAPTIST 60, ROEPER 18: Birmingham Roeper was no match for Allen Park Inter-City Baptist in Michigan Independent Athletic Conference (MIAC) action Friday evening.
Baptist had two players reach double figures in the 42-point triumph. Garrett Kratz led all scorers with 22 points while teammate Luke Barber contributed 11.
Roeper’s top two scorers were Jake Flynn (eight) and Logan Garlo (seven).
Inter-City Baptist hiked its record to 3-1 overall (1-0 in MIAC). Roeper fell to 1-4 (0-1 in MIAC).
