District 10-AAA moves games to Friday, Saturday

A day after announcing changes to the district tournament schedule, teams from District 10-AAA have decided to push the tournament consolation and championship games back again.

This time, the district is shooting for the end of the week and into the weekend as it tries to avoid the most hazardous conditions in a week full of heavy snow, dangerous ice and more school closings.

The Distric 10-AAA girls games will now be scheduled for Friday. The consolation game will be at 6 p.m. between West Creek and Clarksville High with the district title game at 7:30 p.m. at Kenwood High School between Rossview and Henry County

The boys’ tournament has been moved to Saturday at 6 p.m. (consolation) between Northwest and Northeast and 7:30 (championship) between Clarksville High and Kenwood.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing throughout the week but warm up on Saturday so the potential of another schedule change to the District 10 tournament remains possible.

The TSSAA announced Monday that the remaining district tournaments around the state will have the remainder of the week to finish. The region tournament quarterfinals will begin next Monday with the girls and next Tuesday with the boys.

All four remaining teams in both the girls’ and boys’ district tournament have already advanced to next week’s region tournament. The teams playing in the district championship games will host region tournament games next week while the four teams in the district consolation games will travel in next week’s region quarterfinals.
