CAMBRIDGE — East District soccer teams learned their postseason fates today as sectional tournament drawings were held at Cambridge High School.
Seed voting was done in advance online, but coaches chose their placements on the bracket on Sunday.
Rosecrans’ boys, ranked No. 10 in Division III, earned the top seed and will host either No. 5 Cadiz Harrison Central or No. 7 Richmond Edison at 4:30 p.m on Oct. 19.
The winner advances to the sectional finals against either No. 2 Steubenville Catholic Central or No. 9 Woodsfield Monroe Central on Oct. 24 at a time and site to be determined.
Edison hosts Harrison Central at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 17.
• In Division II, all teams chose the upper bracket in the 17-team sectional, with Minerva and East Liverpool earning the top two seeds.
John Glenn earned the No. 3 seed and hosts No. 16 seed Philo on Oct. 20, with the winner getting either No. 5 West Muskingum or No. 9 Wintersville Indian Creek on Oct. 24 at a site to be determined.
In the upper half of the bracket, No. 8 Morgan hosts No. 13 New Philadelphia on Oct. 20, with the winner playing either No. 1 Minerva, No. 12 Maysville or No. 17 Cambridge on Oct. 24 for a berth in the district semifinals.
The Panthers host the Bobcats on Oct. 19.
The two winners will play for a berth in the district semifinals on Oct. 27.
Sites with lights will play at 6:30 p.m., while sites without lights will play at 4:30.
Tri-Valley earned the 30th seed and will play at No. 9 Westerville South at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21, with the winner hosting No. 46 seed Zanesville at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24 for a berth in the district semifinals.
The district semifinals are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 at a site to be determined.
Rosecrans’ girls earned the top seed of seven teams in Division III in the East District and will host No. 7 West Muskingum at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The winner plays No. 6 seed Harrison Central at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 at a site to be determined.
The district finals are slated for Oct. 31.
• In Division II, Bracket 1 saw Philo earned the No. 8 seed and will host either No. 9 St. Clairsville or No. 10 Cambridge at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 for a berth in the district semifinals on Oct. 24.
The upper half of the bracket faces either No. 3 West Holmes or No. 17 East Liverpool for a berth in the district finals.
In the lower bracket, No. 15 Morgan travels to No. 5 Minerva — more than two hours away. The winner likely will play No. 1 seed Lisbon Beaver Local for a berth in the district finals.
In Bracket 2, No. 2 John Glenn will host No. 18 West Lafayette Ridgewood on Oct. 21; the winner plays either No. 7 New Philadelphia or No. 13 Maysville on Oct. 24.
In the upper bracket, No. 6 Tri-Valley will host Indian Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 for a berth in the district against either No. 4 River View, No. 11 Steubenville or No. 12 Dover.
Zanesville earned the No. 14 seed of 41 teams in Division I, where it will host either No. 18 Lancaster or No. 27 Pataskala Watkins Memorial at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The winner reaches the district semifinals against either No. 7 Hilliard Darby or No. 38 Marion Harding at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27.
