STAUNTON – Buffalo Gap pounded out 14 hits in a 15-0, five inning victory over Robert E. Lee in softball action at Montgomery Hall Park.
Emily Chandler led the attack for the Bison, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI. He clubbed an home run in the fifth inning with two on.
Gap’s Destiny Harper, who went 2-for-2, chalked up a grand slam in the first inning. Also getting two hits for the Bison were Mary Beth Strickler and Katie Simmons, who was also the winning pitcher.
Cheyenne Armstrong had two of the Lee Ladies’ three hits.
Lee returns to action Friday at Harrisonburg, while Buffalo Gap is at Wilson the same day.
