Jackson Liberty put together a five run second inning, leading to a 6-1 Shore Conference Class B South win over Central on Tuesday afternoon. Meghan Conroy secured the win for the Lions, finishing the game with nine strikeouts.
Kayla Conners highlighted the big second inning for the Lions with a three run home run. The Lions also had solid days at the plate from both Ashley Eckett who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and Chelsea Czapkowski also finishing 3-for-4.
Stephanie Pepper recorded 14 strike outs for the Golden Eagles.
Red Bank 5, Ocean 4: Niki Lauro had a two run double and Jaime Mannino also added a two run single sparking a five run fifth inning, leading the Bucs over the Spartans in a Class B North game.
Katie Serkus also struck out 12 to bring her season total of strike outs to 80 for the Bucs.
Point Boro 2, Manchester 1: Amanda Caputo secured her fifth win of the season leading the Panthers over the Hawks in a Class B Central game. Brianna Alexander hit a two run single in the first inning for Point Boro.
St. John Vianney 9, Middltown South 0: Ashley Ventura stuck out seven and also hit a home run in the third inning leading the Lancers over the Eagles in a nondivisional game. Helena Coppola also hit a three run double in the fourth inning for the Lancers.
Monmouth 6, Manasquan 4: Jessica Pszeniczny secured the win leading the Falcons over the Warriors in a Class A Central game. Monmouth scored three runs in the third and fourth innings.
Pinelands 15, Barnegat 0: Naomi Stas picked up her eighth win of the season leading the Wildcats over the Bengals in a Class B South game. Kurstin Binshedler went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and 4 RBI.
Mater Dei Prep 19, Keyport 4: Kayley Anthony went 5-for-5 scoring five runs with three RBI leading the Serpahs over the Red Raiders in a Class B Central game. Paige Fernandez went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI and Maggie Klatt also added 3 RBI for the Seraphs.
Hannah Thomson went 2-for-4 for the Red Raiders at the plate.
Jackson Memorial 3, Toms River South 1: Sara Marques hit a two run double in the third inning leading the Jaguars over the Indians in a Class A South game. Tori Aguilar picked up the win for the Jaguars.
Hayley Tomaro had an RBI single for the Indians and also went seven innings with seven strike outs.
